Rátaí seomra agus cctv – Room rates and cctv.

Do: Lucht úsáidte Áras Uilinn

Rinne Bord Bainistíochta Forbairt Pobail Mhaigh Cuilinn athbhreithniú ar rátaí Áras Uilinn ag an gcruinniú is déanaí. Bheartaigh muid nach n-athróidh na rátaí sin don bhliain seo chugainn. Is i 2013 a d’árdaigh na rátaí roimhe seo agus cé go bhfuil árdú chostais tagtha ar solas, teas, glanadh agus árachas tuigeann muid go bhfuil cúrsaí iar Covid deacair agus go bhfuil grúpaí ag fualaingt ballraíocht a fháil ar ais go dtí an leibhéal céanna roimh Covid.

Is ionad pobal deonach muid agus is iad na seirbhísí ar féidir linn a chuir ar fáil don phobal an phríomhaidhm atá againn. Leis sin ráite ní mór dúinn fanacht inmharthana ó thaobh an gheilleagair de agus airgead breise a bheith againn chun cuir le infastructúr an phobail. Bhí an t-ádh orainn le déanaí le deontas ach is minic is deontas aonaracha iad.

Tá caighdeán árd ar na háiseanna agus beidh muid ag cuir córas ceamara ar an ionad i mbliana ar mhaitheas sábáilteacht an ionad agus an lucht úsáidte.

Tá muid ag súil go mór le bheith ag obair libh mar go gcuireann sibh imeachtaí, áiseanna agus seirbhísí den scoth ar fáil do phobail Mhaigh Cuilinn.

To: Users of Áras Uilinn

The board of Forbairt Pobail Maigh Cuilinn at their last meeting reviewed the rates chared for usage of Áras Uilinn. It was decided that the rates would remain unchanged for the coming year. The  last increase was in 2013, and while costs like light, heating, cleaning and insurance have increased we know that post Covid times are difficult and groups are struggling to get membership and participation back to pre pandemic levels.

We are a voluntry community organisation whose prime aim is to provide amenities and services to the local community. We do however have to remain economically viable and have surplus funds available to invest in the community infrastructure. We have been fortunate recently with our grant applications but this funding is often once off.

We continue to maintain facilities in excellent order and are going to install a CCTV system this year to increase the safety and security of the building and its users.

We look forward to continuing to work with you as you provide activities, amenities and services to the Maigh Cuilinn community

Biongó Pobail Mhaigh Cuilinn

Maigh Cuilinn Community Bingo

Maigh Cuilinn Community Bingo resumed weekly Bingo sessions in Áras Uilinn, on Thursday 24th March. Whilst patrons were delighted to see return unfortunately others were still fearful of Covid, so numbers were too low to make the venture viable. We are now on a summer break and plan to resume in late September. However, we will need more support to continue sessions.

Thosaigh Biongó Pobail Mhaigh Cuilinn arís ag seisiúin sheachtainiúla Biongó in Áras Uilinn, Déardaoin 24 Márta. Cé go raibh ríméad ar phátrúin filleadh ar an drochuair bhí eagla ar dhaoine eile fós roimh Covid, agus mar sin bhí líon na ndaoine ró-íseal chun an fiontar a dhéanamh inmharthana. Táimid anois ar shos samhraidh agus tá sé beartaithe againn atosú go déanach i mí Mheán Fómhair. Mar sin féin, beidh níos mó tacaíochta ag teastáil uainn chun leanúint ar aghaidh le seisiúin.

Eisíodh tuarascáil Comhráite Aeráide agus seoladh suirbhé nua

Climate Conversations report released and new survey launched

The Climate Conversations report for 2021 was released and is available to read at this link – https://assets.gov.ie/204202/322402d7-f115-401d-9d28-0fc97ca5a391.pdf.

“In 2021 we engaged with over 3,800 people. We found that some people are already making changes, whilst others felt they lack information, knowledge, resources, or capacity. We heard people ask for ‘joined up thinking’ and ‘ambitious policies’ to be reflected ‘where they live’. These findings were published in our Climate Conversations Report 2021.”

“10 minutes of your time can make a huge difference! This year we are building on what we learnt last year, we are making sure that we engage with people across all of Ireland, particularly those who are affected by our transition to carbon neutrality. Our aim is to make the Climate Action Plan accessible to all. You are invited to be part of this Climate Conversation 2022 and to share your views on the government’s climate action and how it can support you to take climate action in your own life. Your views will support us in developing the 2022 Climate Action Plan. You don’t need to be a climate expert for your opinion to be valued, we want to hear from as many people as possible and have tried to make the questions as straightforward as possible. If you do have questions, you might find the Climate Jargon Buster useful. The Climate Conversation is being conducted in line with strict data protection rules, and for this reason is open only to those over 16.”

The 2022 survey can be found at https://climateconversations.citizenspace.com/decc/climate-conversations-2022/ and will be open until September 9th 2022.

Eisíodh tuarascáil na gComhráite Aeráide do 2021 agus tá sí ar fáil le léamh ag an nasc seo – https://assets.gov.ie/204202/322402d7-f115-401d-9d28-0fc97ca5a391.pdf. “I 2021 chuamar i dteagmháil le breis agus 3,800 duine. Fuaireamar amach go bhfuil athruithe á ndéanamh ag daoine áirithe cheana féin, agus bhraith daoine eile nach bhfuil faisnéis, eolas, acmhainní nó cumas acu. Chuala muid daoine ag iarraidh go léireofaí ‘smaointeoireacht chomhcheangailte’ agus ‘beartais uaillmhianacha’ ‘an áit a bhfuil cónaí orthu’. Foilsíodh na torthaí seo inár Tuarascáil maidir le Comhráite Aeráide (https://assets.gov.ie/204202/322402d7-f115-401d-9d28-0fc97ca5a391.pdf) 2021.”

“Is féidir le 10 nóiméad de do chuid ama difríocht mhór a dhéanamh! Táimid ag tógáil i mbliana ar an méid a d’fhoghlaim muid anuraidh, táimid ag cinntiú go rachaimid i dteagmháil le daoine ar fud na hÉireann ar fad, go háirithe iad siúd a dtéann ár n-aistriú go neodracht carbóin i bhfeidhm orthu. Is é an aidhm atá againn an Plean Gníomhaithe ar son na hAeráide a dhéanamh inrochtana do chách. Tugtar cuireadh duit a bheith páirteach sa **Climate Conversation** **2022** seo agus do thuairimí a roinnt maidir le gníomhú ar son na haeráide an rialtais agus conas is féidir leis tacú leat gníomhú ar son na haeráide i do shaol féin. Tacóidh do thuairimí linn Plean Gníomhaithe ar son na hAeráide 2022 a fhorbairt.Ní gá duit a bheith i do shaineolaí aeráide chun go mbeidh meas ar do thuairim, ba mhaith linn cloisteáil ón oiread daoine agus is féidir agus rinneamar iarracht na ceisteanna a dhéanamh chomh simplí agus is féidir.
